"I first attended MCC North London, UK in 2001 and became a member in December of 2003. I grew up in a family of faith in Nigeria. The church denomination is a spiritual, traditional Pentecostal movement. |
| My journey in the Pentecost movement and my ordination service in 1998 shaped my life, but also confused me. MCC affected my faith and belief system, and allowed me to reconcile my sexuality and spirituality. | |
| I am involved in MCC ministries, including praise and worship, revival services, drama groups, sacred art and poetry. I am also now involved in church planting ministries, as I recently transferred my clergy status to MCC. | |
| As an African gay man, it is important for me to make myself more visible in the ministry. The moments that make me most happy are when I see brothers and sisters from diverse race and orientation celebrate the goodness and grace of God together. | |
| I cannot distinguish my joy when I first met Troy Perry and Desmond Tutu. These two people helped change my life. | |
In my spare time, I write and publish poetry. I love drama, modeling, acting, swimming...just having fun." Rowland's message to new MCC members, friends, and MCC leadership: |
|
"God loves everybody just as you are, don't let anyone tell you otherwise." |
