Hi, I'm Reverend Sharon Ferguson and I’m the Interim Pastor at MCC North London. I’ve been a member of MCC since 1998 but only joined North London in 2003. |
As well as the usual duties of preaching, praying and pastoral care for the last two years I have been working on setting up and developing our small groups programme.
I like to help out where I can in the services so you just might find me operating the powerpoint, in the choir, or translating the service into BSL.
More recently, I have taken up the role of Chief Executive of the Lesbian & Gay Christian Movement, where I have been working as Assistant Chief Executive for the last year.
My role as Interim Pastor is to prepare the church at MCCNL for a full time pastor! As part of that task, I have worked with ministry directors to set up three strands of ministry within the church - Communications & Social Ministries, Congregatrional Care Ministries, and Worship Ministries teams will be the umbrellas underwhich all the church ministries will fall.
Together with church members we will be preparing the church for the future. Read the Pastor's Blog or watch out for news updates to find out more.
I have had a very varied career which has included residential Social Work, Financial Advisor, and Forensic Psychologist and so only completed my training for ordination in 2004
I live in South East London with my partner, Jen, and our small dog, Bracken. I like to walk with Bracken in the many lovely parks in the area, going to the ‘Pink Ballroom Dance’ once a month, doing puzzles and quizzes and reading science fantasy and murder/mystery novels. I also have a creative side and so enjoy DIY and knitting including designing my own knitting patterns.
