What is ministry? One useful definition is, “Ministry is (1) doing something; (2) for the advent of God’s realm, (3) in public; (4) on behalf of a Christian community; (5) which is a gift received in faith, baptism or ordination and which is (6) an activity with its own limits and identity within a diversity of ministerial actions (Thomas O’Meara, in Coleman, John A, 1985, pp. 9&10) |
In MCC’s around the world, ministry is not just the remit of Pastors and ordained clergy; as we are a priesthood of all believers, everyone can participate in ministry in the Church. | |
| Below are the various strands of ministry within the Church. They are split into three distinct groups but are by no means an exhaustive list and can be added to etc. according to the Church’s needs. | ||
| God gives us all skills and gifts to equip the Church with all it needs to minister successfully to God’s people. Please see the ministry co-ordinators for each strand or the leaders of particular ministries, where you feel you would like to get involved.
